They are unlacquered and will develop their own patina as they are used and react with their environment. The Gold finish is a soft finish and should be treated with care. I bought mine in gold as why wouldn't you? And I'm pleased to say that it's really high quality! The levers are smooth and the water flow is great, no real fluctuation in the flow
Honestly I much prefer this one to the one with the cross handles, I've always been a fan of the more contemporary levers
I bought this tap for my bathroom as I was a little confused by it: The main spout boasts that classical look whereas it has more modern styled lever handles. The people at Taps must know what they're doing because now I have it set up at home it's a really great looking tap!
