They are unlacquered and will develop their own patina as they are used and react with their environment. The Gold finish is a soft finish and should be treated with care. This is a brilliant tap, no doubt about it. You can feel the quality of it while it's being used; there's something about the valve in the handles that makes them feel super smooth and satisfying to turn and I love it
This tap reminds me so much of my old family home, we had very similar tap set in the old bathroom. The tap really compliments the rest of the decor in my bathroom and the golden finish helps to give it a more warm feeling
